"Here, There, Every, Where" is a photo series focused on the idea that despite my Canadian citizenship, I’ve never visited other provinces or cities outside of Niagara until moving to Toronto. becoming engrained in the communities as well as traveling to different areas since arriving at OCAD has made me feel like a tourist with a camera, visiting Canada for the first time and looking at subjects with the wonder and fascination of someone who’s never been here before. All that curiosity is equally contrasted with the issue of unfamiliarity and feelings of alienation from the places and people who are local and familiar to the land. As time goes on I've used photography to gather information and cultural cues, building better relationships with people who have been here, there, and everywhere across Canada to understand where I am. I feel as though daily I’m still trying to find my place. As time progresses I’ll continue to explore myself and where I fit in through my observation of the places and people around me, always wondering how and why I am where I am.
